Elizabeth was introduced to beekeeping in 2008 by a local legend in beekeeping – Jack Tapp. Facinated by bees, she trained with Jack Tapp and Betsey Spencer for a year. She got her first 2 hives that Spring, and has been enjoying backyard beekeeping ever since. In order to support her hobby, and share the products of the hive “MissBeehivin’” was created in 2015 with the help of her wonderful husband, Lincoln and their fantastic 3 sons. Her sister, Wendy Carnegie (of LewisCarnegie) created her awesome logo using the "Bee Hive Hair-Do" from Charlsie Kelly.
All of our honey is local to the Piedmont of North Carolina, and is mostly from the Tulip Poplar trees that bloom in the Spring, along with other wildflowers in the area.
It is the goal of this company to share the joys and wonders of the bees. Our operation is kept small in order to save the bees, rather than take advantage of them. Our practices are focused on doing what is best for the bees.
